  • Radiocarpal ligament
  • Ulnocarpal ligament
  • Radial collateral ligament
  • Ulnar collateral ligament

NameOriginInsertionFunction
Radiocarpal ligament (dorsal +palmar)- Dorsal: posterior distal radius
- Palmar: anterior distal radius
- Dorsal: Posterior surface of proximal row of carpal bones
- Palmar: Anterior surface of proximal row of carpal bones
- Stabilises wrist joint
- Limit radial deviation of wrist
- Dorsal: limits wrist flexion
- Palmar: Limits wrist extension
Ulnocarpal ligaments (dorsal + palmar)- Dorsal: head of ulna
- Palmar: styloid process of ulna
- Dorsal: triquetrum
- Palmar: lunate and triquetral bones
- Stabilise the wrist joint
- Dorsal: limits wrist flexion
- Palmar: limits wrist flexion
Ulnar collateral ligament - of hand- Styloid process of ulna- Splits into 2 sheets
- Attaches into triquetral and pisiform bones
- Stabilise the medial aspect of wrist joint
Radial collateral ligament- of hand- Styloid process of radius- Scaphoid and trapezium bones- Stabilises lateral apsect of wrist joint
