Supraspinatus- Initiates and assists in shoulder abduction
- Assists in stabilisation of glenohumeral joint
- Supraspinous fossa of scapula- Greater tubercle of humerus (superior facet)- Suprascapular nerve: C4,3,6- Suprascapular artery
Infraspinatus- Lateral rotation of the humerus
- Assists in stabilisation of the glenohumeral joint
- Dorsal surface of scapula (below the spine of the scapula)- Greater tubercle of humerus (middle facet)- Suprascapular nerve: C4,5,6- Suprascapular and circumflex scapular arteries
Subscapularis- Medially rotates arm
- Adducts arm
- Assists in stabilisation of glenohumeral joint
- Subscapular fossa of scapula- Lesser tubercle of humerus- Upper and lower subscapular nerves: C5,6,7- Subscapular artery
Teres minor- Lateral rotation of arm
- Assists in stabilisation of glenohumeral joint
- Superolateral portion of scapula border- Greater tubercle of humerus (inferior facet)- Axillary nerve: C5,6- Subscapular and circumflex scapular arteries
